The surplus conventional water transfer project is a response to the growing need for drinking water due to demographic change and the development of activities in coastal regions. The project involves laying pipes (concrete and cast iron transfer pipes with a diameter of 1600mm and 1800mm) and building three pumping stations. The project will solve the water supply at the Haiphong city.

With the acceleration of urbanization and the continuous growth of population, Haiphong City, Vietnam is facing increasingly severe challenges in drinking water supply. In order to solve this problem, Haiphong City launched a drinking water transportation project, aiming to meet the growing demand for drinking water by building an efficient water transportation system. This project is not only an improvement of urban infrastructure, but also an improvement of the quality of life of residents.
As an important port city in northern Vietnam, Haiphong has experienced rapid economic development in recent years, attracting a large number of people to move in. This change has led to a sharp increase in demand for drinking water, and the existing water supply system can no longer meet the city's needs. Therefore, the Haiphong Municipal Government decided to implement a drinking water delivery project to ensure that residents can obtain safe and reliable drinking water.
The core of the project is to lay a series of pipelines and build three pumping stations to achieve efficient water transportation. The main materials used in the project include ASTM A53 pipes, ASTM A10 flanges/blind flanges and ASTM A234 fittings, and the pipe diameters range from DN100 to DN1000. All pipes and fittings are wrapped with internal epoxy coating and external asphalt impregnated glass cloth to improve corrosion resistance and service life.
In terms of pipeline laying, the project will use concrete and cast iron water pipes with diameters of 1600mm and 1800mm. The use of these large-diameter pipes will significantly improve the efficiency of water transportation and ensure that water can be quickly and safely transported to various areas.
The construction of the project will be divided into multiple stages, starting with the laying of the pipeline. The construction team will rationally plan the direction of the pipeline based on the terrain and water source location to ensure unimpeded water flow. During the laying process, the construction team will strictly follow relevant safety and quality standards to ensure that the connection and sealing of each section of the pipeline meet the requirements.
In addition, the construction of three pumping stations is also an important part of the project. The pumping stations will be equipped with advanced water pumps and control systems to ensure a stable supply of water. The design of the pumping stations will take into account possible future expansion needs so that they can be quickly upgraded and modified when water demand increases further.
The implementation of the Haiphong drinking water delivery project will have a profound impact on the lives of local residents. First, the project will significantly improve the drinking water supply of residents and ensure that every family has access to safe and clean drinking water. Second, the implementation of the project will promote the development of the local economy, attract more investment and business activities, and further enhance the city's comprehensive competitiveness.
In addition, the project will create a large number of local jobs and promote sustainable social and economic development. By introducing advanced construction technology and management experience, the project will provide valuable reference for future infrastructure construction.
The Haiphong Drinking Water Transportation Project in Vietnam is an infrastructure construction project of great significance, which aims to solve the growing demand for drinking water. By adopting high-standard materials and advanced construction technology, the project will not only improve the quality of life of residents, but also lay the foundation for the sustainable development of Haiphong City. With the smooth progress of the project, Haiphong City will usher in a better future.
